Q & A with Tony Logan
Tony Logan is the promotional directer for Solediction, an online magazine covering sneakers, art, and fashion. Solediction was founded by a few cool dudes with dreams of becoming a premiere, one-stop daily news source for internet savvy sneaker enthusiast. I came across Tony while I was networking on twitter, and as I began to chat with him and learn more about his work, I was truly impressed. After getting my blog off the ground, as well as getting to know Tony a bit, I approached him in regards to doing an interview on Solediction. He was more than eager to jump on the opportunity, and I truly thank him as well as the rest of the Solediction fam! Tony is a super genuine cat, with a good head on his shoulders and a great heart for his work. He, along with the rest of the Solediction crew, is a true inspiration to young, up and comers in the industry, as well as myself. As I was typing up this feature, my mind went to the track "So Ambitious" by Jay-Z and Pharrell. "If you can conceive it, you can achieve it!" Again, a special thanks and shout out to Tony and the rest of the guys with Solediction: Angelo, Taevon, and Ralph! Be sure to check out Solediction daily, and don't be afraid to give Tony a shout!
-For those who don’t know, what is Solediction?
Solediction is an online magazine dedicated to everything related to sneaker culture, including: sneakers, art, fashion, designer toys and more. Existing since November of 2007, Solediction has evolved into a one-stop daily news source for many internet savvy sneaker enthusiast.-Where did the idea for Solediction come from and how did you decide on the name, Solediction?
Me, Tae, and Angelo came up with the name simply by brainstorming. We tried to come up with a name that was short, catchy, and easy to remember. I think it was Taevon who actually came up with Solediction that we all agreed on.
-Tell us about the latest edition to the Solediction fam.
We have a guy who goes by the name of Ralph Larne who was our intern not too long ago and now moved his way on up to senior editor. He def has a passion for writing and is a great addition to the Solediction family.-What site would you say is comparable to Solediction?
-What was the biggest obstacle in getting Solediction up and
running?
I think getting people aware that Solediction even existed was probably the biggest obstacle, but because we came up with Solediction around the time a lot of social networks took off, getting the word out about Solediction became less of a problem.running?
-Where or who did you pull your inspiration from for Solediction?
best/loyal readers in the world. I get inspired when our readers
participate in our giveaways because it lets me know that people are
still coming to Solediction and showing us love and that’s what keeps
me motivated.
-Have you had the opportunity to work with or feature any “famous” people in any way?
Famous... hmmmm... Important, yes! Actually our senior editor Ralph Lorne had the privilege of interviewing Mickey Factz a while back. If you haven’t had a chance to peep it, go check it out. We def. deal with the people in charge when it comes to our features and I think that’s cool that those people take the time out their busy schedule to deal with us.
-If you could have one celeb put a plug for Solediction, who would it be and why?
Pharrell hands down. Because I know if he supports Solediction it must be something special because he has an eye for things. That would def. be dope if he dropped a quick shout out to us or Curren$y too.-If Solediction had a theme song, what would it be?
-So what’d you guys fill your time with when you’re not making moves to become the premiere online magazine?
For me studying, but then probably hanging with the cousins, shopping, or hitting the movies. Nothing major, I’m a real boring dude.
-What do you see for Solediction five years down the road?
out there and a whole staff full of motivated, hungry writers working
for us.
-As there become more and more young, aspiring entrepreneurs, what would be your main piece of advice for them?
Just put your mind to it, that’s it. We started with an idea, and the result is Solediction. So if you want something, go for it period.KORG DS-10 - Daft Punk “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”
For beat buffs on the go, the KORG DS-10 Synthesizer allows musicians to spin out beats and tunes straight from their Ninetendo DS Touch Screen. While it’s understated to say it almost allows endless creative possibilities in combining music and Ninetendo DS console, we didn’t realize how far the boundaries can be pushed until electronic musician Denkitribe along with DS-10 master Keishi Yonao made the DS belt out Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” with uncanny similarity. The video shall speak for itself and will perhaps inspire more Youtube videos of hit mixes to come. via: technabob
This lil gadget is fly! And I know y'all recognize the beat, right?! Early Christmas present anyone??

Blackberry Over iPhone - Holler!!
A few months ago, we reported that the Blackberry Curve was outselling the iPhone, and today, it looks like that trend is continuing.
RIM, the company behind the Blackberry, is leading the way in smartphone sales domestically, beating out the iPhone, the Google Android phones, and the Palm Pre.
But, despite sales being up, RIM (Research In Motion) said Thursday (September 24) that they sold fewer Blackberrys and pulled in less revenue than expected.
The news sent the company's stock tumbling yesterday, but their CEO says they're in good shape.
"This stuff (smartphones and mobile applications) is going much more mainstream," he said during the conference call. "And we are teed up to go much more mainstream. If this crosses over, as I think we are doing, we are in a good position and a very prosperous position."
Still, for the third quarter, which ended on August 29th, RIM earned $475.6 million, compared to profits of $495.5 million for the same period a year ago.
They shipped about 8.3 million BlackBerry devices during the quarter, adding about 3.8 million new subscribers. However, they were expected to add 4 million new subscribers on shipments between 8.5 million and 8.6 million.
What hurt them for the quarterly earnings report was they paid out $112.8 million for a settlement of a patent dispute with Visto.
They hiccup won't stop RIM though. They expect strong sales during the holiday season, especially with new Blackberry models such as the Tour and Curve, both of which debuted during the summer. They're also expected to launch the next version of its touch-screen BlackBerry Storm on Verizon Wireless before the end of the year.

Track of the Day -- "In Your Atmosphere" - John Mayer
Rough day today, so since I've been home, I've been reflecting and writing down some thoughts. My music of choice for the evening has been John Mayer. Like him or not, my man is one of the most talented singer, song writer, guitarist of his day! His lyrics alone are more captivating than most. This track, "In Your Atmosphere" is my second favorite Mayer song of all time.... Enjoy!

What's going through my head
Can't even place one thought
Not even half way there
Lost
Struggling
Searching
For the switch
My mind won't let me rest
But rest it will have to do
Nothing's coming together today
All may as well come unglued
I hate the thought of losing
Defeat is for the weak
Can't even say I lost tonight
I never entered the game
Why
Why
Why
Even now
As I am writing
Sense I do not make
What useless tool all is to me
Constantly at a loss...
Can't even place one thought
Not even half way there
Lost

Searching
For the switch
My mind won't let me rest

"Use Somebody" - The Lowdown & The Showdown
"Use Somebody"
I'm usually not a huge fan of covers at all, but Hayley Williams of Paramore does straight kill the Kings of Leon Cover. While she definitely does do the song justice, and some, I still prefer to hear Caleb Followill of Kings take the mic. He has one of the most unique and powerful voices that I've heard in a long time! I've heard a lot of people talking about how they enjoy the Paramore version better. Maybe just because it is new or fresh, but I still get chills every time I hear the original by Kings of Leon. Hayley - good job!! But Kings of Leon still takes this one for me!! I posted both versions below, so you guys can lemme know which one you like better!Paramore

Quote/Thought of the Day
"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." - Scott Adams
Being a perfectionist myself, it has always been a struggle for me to complete a project due to my thinking that it wasn't good enough. I have never had a problem starting a task, but finish one is another story. No matter what I strive to do, I always want the outcome to be perfection. What a difficult way to live! It is not a bad goal at all, but you must be willing to complete something in order to learn and grow for the next go around. Without mistakes along the way, how will we know what to do next time? As long as we are learning from those mistakes and finding out how to avoid them, it is a job well done! It is not completely bad to learn as you go at times. Yes, there should be proper preparation and research, but you will never accomplish anything if you are not willing to get your hands dirty and make a few wrong turns. This is a difficult lesson for me that I must continually remind myself of. I believe that I have taken great strides in correcting the issue, however. Take this blog for instance. There are constantly thoughts and ideas running through my mind of how it could be better and more appealing, but I have challenged myself to learn as I go. I am willing to fall down, but most definitely get back up every time and go at it even harder. Let your creativity take you places you didn't even know were possible! Don't get just halfway and decide you need a better product. Stick it out! Learn from what you have already done, and one day satisfaction will come!

Crackberry Catch of the Day
Now I know all of you guys out there are wondering who in the world this absolutely beautiful woman is... It's my mother, fellas!! One of the most influential and inspirational people in my life by far, not just because she's my mom, but merely because she is truly an amazing human being! She has had to deal with more than most people would in three or four lifetimes, yet in every situation, she continues to praise God. I have been super blessed with an amazing family in general and the best parents that a kid could ask for. I truly do believe that! My dad sent me this photo yesterday, and simply receiving this pic of my mom, I was instantly inspired...

Crackberry Catch of the Day/Thought of the Day
So I was on my lunch break at work the other day when I happened to look over and see this elderly couple sitting at the table next to me. I'm a people watcher so I always catch myself observing and noticing odd things about random, helpless characters that are nearest to me. In this case, it was more of some thoughts and curiosities that were running through my head than anything that the folks were actually doing. For some reason my thought process was focused on the elderly man. I began to wonder if this man had accomplished all that he had intended to. Had he be able to completely check off everything on his "Life To-Do List?" I'm sitting there next to him at the ripe age of 23, thinking that I have all the time in the world to tackle the many aspects of life that I intend to, but what about this guy? What did he have left to take on? Or was he in fact, finished? I certainly hope not. Just as I hope and pray that when I reach his age, I am still fighting for dreams that have yet to come true. I sincerely strive to wake up each day with a new set of goals for myself, new worlds to conquer! My point to all of this is never lose your fire! Whatever you have to do to keep your internal flame stoked, do it at all costs. When you are lying there on your death bed, do you really want thoughts of if's and but's and only if I could have's running through your head?
"Jay-Z's Coronation"
With his latest album The Blueprint 3, Jay-Z has earned his 11th number one album on the Billboard Charts. The rap mogul surpasses Elvis Presley(10 number one albums)
and is now only second to arguably the greatest band of all time, the Beatles.
This being Jay's 11th number one album, he currently trails the Beatles(19 number one albums) by 8. No other hip hop artist is even in the top ten. Can Jay-Z now forever engrave his status as the "King of Hip Hop?"
10 number 1 albums in a row,

I crush Elvis in his blue suede shoes,
