Crackberry Catch of the Day + Quote/Thought of the Day

Today, as this car was stopped in front of me at the light, my mind began to race. Thoughts of ambition, accomplishment, and greatness. By no means do I measure the value of someone's success with their material wealth, but I do believe that I will get there one day! I am consistently focused on bettering myself and reaching new heights. Failure is not an option. Yes, I will fall, but more importantly, I will get back up and dust myself off ten times out of ten! God grant me greatness, that I may impact the world in a positive light! My dream is to inspire others, who will in turn, inspire! Keep the ball rolling...

Kicks of the Day -- Nike Air Max Light

With the well-deserved attention on the Air Max 1 that came out of the Nike Sportswear brand, it seems that there’s been a dearth of Air Max Light releases lately. The last release we previewed for you was a striking version of the Nike Air Max light in black, gray, and a hint of orange. This model is a throwback-themed colorway with shadow gray in soft leather throughout the upper. On the heel collar and toebox, a white mesh with a bit of sheen is employed, while the lace accents, air bubble, eyelet, and heel embroidery appear in blue. The Swoosh is a soft leather as well in red, completing a style that may remind some of the Nike Transformer Air Trainer III colorway. Let’s hope there’s more fresh styles of this sneaker to come. Available now through purchaze.

Nike Air Max is one of my favorite shoes, and the new colorway with gray, red, and blue definitely does not disappoint! I'm giving this new creation by Nike 4.25 out of 5 stars!

"Five Directions at Once"

It seems that my checklist of dreams continues to grow longer and longer.
So many things that I truly believe are within my grasp,
but how do I narrow them down.
Am I naive enough to believe that I can capture all of my dreams at once?
Where do I begin?
Which path will take me there?
Because A to B, rarely do you see.
I strap my boots up each day, one at a time.
I journey forward with new tasks and new goals to explore.
A guiding light, leading me all the way.
Staying focused on the prize, I will overcome.

"US" - Brother Ali

I ran across this the other day somehow, and once I really listened to it, I was immediately inspired. My dude has some great stuff to say. Forget all the cars, the ice, and the girls. He's talkin about real life. "Get inspired to inspire!" - ME

"L.A. Gear - They're Baaaaack!!!"

In 1979, Lonnie Britton founded L.A. Gear with dreams of marketing and renting roller skates in Venice Beach, California. To Britton's surprise, this dream quickly shifted into a different direction, athletic footwear. In the mid 1980's, L.A. Gear burst onto the scene with its primary focus centered around young women. The earliest models were high top fashion models which featured a velcro strap. In no time, L.A. Gears became known for their distinct, colorful schemes and two pairs of laces offered with each model.

Other than being targeted to young females, L.A. Gear also gave a run at NBA endorsements. Being as the earliest shoe models were primarily made for basketball, the company managed to lure Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, and Hakeem Olajuwon to represent the brand. To this day. Karl Malone's Gears are considered one of the ugliest shoes of all time. (And I can't say that I disagree)

Probably the most memorable component that was featured on many of the L.A. Gear shoe models was the flashing lights. To this day, I can remember the first time I saw a kid with a pair of L.A. Gears walking through the mall. Initially, I was frozen in astonishment, then almost immediately I jerked on my mom's arm and excitedly asked her to buy me a pair. Pretty soon thereafter, you weren't one of the "cool kid" unless you had a pair of light up L.A. Gears. And what can we say... How ingenious, shoes that lit up with every step!

Well, I've got news folks... They're baaaaaack! As of last year, L.A. Gear decided to relaunch in attempts of a triumphant return. The new line features the old school "Unstoppable" model, the "Fire High," the "Star Shooter," and the "K.A.J. I've visited the L.A. Gear website and some of the styles actually aren't that bad. The bulky, high top sneaker is actually an "in" item right now, so I can see why the compnay chose to make a comeback. Don't just take my word on the new kicks. Take a look for yourself!

The Lights making a return as well!! Oh snaps!! HaHa....

Nike SB Dunk High "Brain Wreck"

The Familia Skateshop located in Minneapolis will be releasing these early this weekend. Todd Bratrud has produced a pretty decent SB that consists of a subtle gray and contrasting pink along with a sick insole. During the event that takes place at 6 pm it will involve the introduction of the ‘Brain Wreck’ skate deck. Look out for the official release date soon.

Always a dunk fan myself, these bad boys right here are super dope. They get 4 out of 5 stars from me!
